Vijayawada: TD chief and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu may do a KCR by announcing candidates from his party for the 2019 polls well in advance.
Individual performance reports given by the party president contained party activities and developmental programmes taken up by the MLAs in their respective Assembly constituency and their performance. The reports also had details about infighting in the constituency, status of the party, things that are to be improved by the MLAs.
Reports were also given on detailed analysis of the party in every mandal. “In a way it will be an advantage to the party if there is any bickering inside the party on the selection of the candidates in the constituency, as there will be ample time to douse the fire and it will not affect the election immediately. It looks as if selection of candidates for 60 to 70 per cent seats will not be a problem and this could be announced well in advance. The problematic constituencies can be taken up later. Early announcement of candidates will also drive home the message that the party is confident of a victory and will boost the morale of the cadre. Candidates can also start their spade work immediately and have good time to position themselves in their respective constituencies,” a TD insider told this correspondent
