Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and Ex-MLA Siveri Soma were gunned down by Naxals for their alleged involvement in illegal quarrying and extending support for bauxite mining. The Legislator who claimed to have shifted loyalties to TDP upon winning of YCP Ticket in 2014 Polls for the sake of constituency development has done nothing much to the people. Tribals in Araku Constituency complain about lack of proper road connectivity, medical facilities, illegal quarrying and bauxite mining.





Unlike many of the parties who condemned the murder of MLA and Ex-MLA, Jana Sena's Political Action Committee issued a statement saying such a tragedy wouldn't have happened had if State Government took appropriate action against illegal quarrying. This statement makes sense if the track record of the deceased Lawmaker was analysed.

MLA Kidari own Guda Quarry and holds partnership in another Quarry as well. Former MLA Siveri Soma was his Close Associate. They have neglected the repeated appeals by Tribals and warnings of Naxals over illegal quarrying. While speaking to a news channel in the past, MLA himself admitted he owns quarry business. Locals have been protesting against the Guda Quarry since sometime. Why didn't the State Government pay heed to outcry of Tribals?
