VIJAYAWADA: A woman attempted suicide by dousing herself in petrol at Prajavedika, in front of CM N. Chandrababu Naidu’s residence at Undavalli here on Monday, seeking more financial help through the CM’s Relief Fund to her ailing husband.

However, the alert security at the place prevented her from setting herself afire with a matchstick.

According to the reports, the government had already released `13 lakh to Velagapudi Seeta of Penamaluru village, to pay towards the medical expenses of her husband who is undergoing treatment at Sunrise Hospital in Vijayawada, after being seriously injured in an accident.

Speaking to the media, Seeta said that her husband is undergoing treatment in a hospital after being seriously injured in an accident. She said that her son was studying medicine abroad. Seeta said that because her husband was not able to earn, her son was not able to pay fee to his college. “My son is threatening that he would die if we would not send the money,” she cried.

She urged the CM to support her family till they repay their debts and lead a normal life.

Speaking on the issue Tadepalli CI B. Brahmaiah said: “As Seeta has been facing some financial crisis, she created trouble at the CM’s residence.”
He said that a case was registered against Seeta and that they would inquire into the whole matter.
