Hyderabad: A resident of old Alwal was found to have 134 pending traffic challans on his bike with total penalties of Rs 31,556. The Narayanguda police filed a chargesheet on the violator, seized his bike and sent him to court.

The police came upon the violator, Krishna Prakash, almost by chance: He was stopped for riding without a helmet. When a challan was issued against him, the police realised it was the 135th, and he had paid none of the previous ones.





According to the Narayanguda traffic police, it was during a routine check up at Himayatnagar Y-junction, that they stopped the bike bearing number TS10 ED 9176.

Mr Krishnam Raju, Narayanguda traffic police sub-inspector, who stopped the two-wheeler, said, “The highest number of pending e-challans were issued for cell phone driving followed by signal jumping and wrong side driving.”

He said all the challans had been imposed through non-contact enforcement. “Though notice was served to pay the fines he had ignored them. However we caught him on Thursday evening.”
