Hyderabad: The Yadgirigutta Narasimha Swamy temple development process was put in motion by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday.

Mr Rao, who helihopped to the famous temple for the second time since he took over as CM and offered prayers, asked the officials to rope in the best temple and landscape architects for developing the temple.

“The CM instructed us to prepare a master plan with the help of best temple and landscape experts for development of Yadagirigutta. The government earmarked Rs 100 crore. We plan to develop the temple on 2,000 acres beginning with 1,200 acres,” Mr G. Kishan Rao, CEO of the proposed Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority told this newspaper.

At present, there is 1,200 acres of government land and 800 acres more would be acquired in phases depending on requirement. The master plan will include development of the temple, its surroundings, a four-lane road to the temple, development of Narasimha Abhaya Aranya on the lines of Tirumala forest on 800 acres of forest land near the temple, construction of a huge Anjaneya Swamy idol, accommodation and other facilities for pilgrims among others atop the hill and below the hill, walkways, eight-lane roads around the temple, among others.

“The haphazard constructions atop the hill will be rectified,” Mr Kishan Rao added.

In another development, chief secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma who reviewed the arrangements for the Godavari Puskaralu next year asserted that 2015 Godavari Pusharalu would be held in a grand manner by the TS government.

“Godavari Pushkar ghats will be located at Basar, Dharmapuri, Bhadrachallam, Kale-shwaram and other places. We will undertake publicity in other states and make arrangements for pilgrims. We will invite Srigeri head to inaugurate the puskaralu,” he said.
