Telangana's First Speaker Madhusudhana Chary faced defeat contesting from Bhupalpally Constituency in the 2018 Assembly Polls. This negative result has given strength to the sentiment that those who serve as Speaker won't have political future.







None of the Senior TRS MLAs are willing to accept the Speaker Post. Padma Devender Goud who served as Deputy Speaker in the first term was the first choice. She, however, turned down the proposal. Thereafter, KCR considered Koppula Eshwar for the respectable post. Even this 6-time MLA is keen to accept only Cabinet Berth.

Finally, TRS Supremo seems to be mulling on appointing Etela Rajender as the Next Speaker of Telangana. Will this Former Finance Minister accept the new responsibility? Etela is known for his dignified behaviour and calmness. There wasn't even a single incident where he lost his temper, that's something really appreciable. Someone like him could increase the respect for Speaker's Chair. Etela mayn't turn down the proposal if KCR insists he has to lead from the front.
