Collectors asked prepare voters’ list village-wise

Hyderabad: Chief secretary S.K. Joshi on Thursday directed collectors to send village-wise voters lists published by the EC on November 19 to the e-Seva commissioner within three days to identify new beneficiaries for Aasara pensions.

Mr Joshi was reviewing the process to deliver Aasara pensions as per the poll promise of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao sa well as enhancing the sum from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,016 per month for old-age, widow, single women and other categories from April, during a videoconference with district collectors and senior officials.

Mr Joshi said the lists were needed to identify new beneficiaries in view of the revision of the minimum age for old-age pensioners to 60 years from 57. The CS directed the authorities to conduct a gram sabha in each village and get objections before finalising the list.
