Nandamuri Harikrishna
Actor and TD leader Nandamuri Harikrishna died at 61 in a car accident on the highway. This son of NTR was actively involved in politics and a former Rajya Sabha member. Shared screen space and a personal bond with artistes like Nagarjuna. Harikrishna acted in 15 films over 50 years. Laahiri Laahiri Laahirilo (2002) and Seetaiah (2003) were among his biggest hits. He is survived by his wives and sons, the actors Kalyan Ram and Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao.

T. Krishna Kumari
Leading actress and contemporary of Savitri. Sister of actor Sowkar Janaki, she was active from the 1960s to the 1980s. Her co-stars included N.T. Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishnam Raju, Dr Rajkumar, Sivaji Ganesan, Kanta Rao, and Jaggaiah. Krishna Kumari not only ruled the Telugu film industry but also acted in Tamil and Kannada movies.





T.L. Sankar
A retired IAS officer, hailed as a role model civil servant. Apart from holding key posts in the energy sector, Sankar was consultant to the Asian Deelopment Bank, United Nations, and World Bank on Energy and Development issues and served on short-time assignments in Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Tanzania, Ghana and other countries.

Kusuma Prabhakar
Warangal native, renowned photographer made Hyderabad his home since 1995. Took up photography in 1978, pursued it with unrivalled passion and was known for his ability to capture human emotions. With his dexterity in capturing the effects of light and shadow, Prabhakar created a niche position. Recipient of the prestigious Fellowship of The Royal Photographic Society (FRPS) of Britain in June 2018.

Nomula Satyanarayana
Eminent writer who in addition to his own stories, he translated a Chinese novel authored by Tou Chaung into Telugu language, Naa Kutumbam (My Family). He also translated several Urdu stories into Telugu. Potti Sriramulu Telugu University presented the ‘Keerthi Puraskaram’ to him in 2014. He set up the Nomula Sahithya Samiti and instituted awards for upcoming writers to encourage them.

Nerella Venu Madhav
Impressionist and ventriloquist, popular for imitating celebrities, politicians, local dialects, the Nizams and was the first to perform at the United Nations headquarters. Often regarded as the father of Indian mimicry, he wrote a book on the art in Telugu, titled Mimicry Kala. An auditorium in Warangal is named in his honour as ‘Dr Nerella Venu Madhav Kalaa Pranganam’.
