Guntur: Youth killed over affair with minor

Guntur: A youth was brutally murdered by family members of a minor girl who he was in love with, at Pedakurapadu in Guntur district on Sunday.

According to Pedakurapadu sub-inspector V. Someswara Rao, Nalla-bothu Sudhakar, 25, died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Sattenapalli.

Sudhakar, who lived at Hussainnagar of Pedak-urapadu mandal in Guntur district, had fallen in love with the minor girl. Pathuri Srinivasa Rao, father of the minor girl, hatched a plan along with four others to kill Sudhakar.

Accordingly, Srinivasa Rao called Sudhakar from the girl’s mobile phone while he was in Vijayawada on personal work. Srinivasa Rao and his accomplices allegedly attacked Sudh-akar at Pedakura-padu while he was on his way to Hussainnagar via Pedakurapadu.

Residents of Pedakur-apadu tried to save Sudhakar from the attackers but the gang threatened them and continued with the attack, using sticks and iron rods.

The local residents informed the police about the incident. Meanwhile, the assail-ants left the spot believing their victim was dead. The police reached the spot and shifted Sudhakar to a private hospital at Sattenapalli. The doctors tried to save him but in vain.
