Hyderabad: 2 bank staffers mowed down

Hyderabad: Three people including two women were killed and one person received injuries in two separate road accidents in Hyderabad on Thursday.

In the first accident at Langer Houz, two employees of ICICI Bank, Deepika Nikam, 23, and Syed Shabaz Ahmed, 25, were mowed down by a speeding truck.

Langer Houz inspector Ch. Srinivas said that Deepika and Shabaz were employees of ICICI bank, Gachibowli branch.

The duo was heading to work on a bike when at about 8.30 am, they slowed down to take a U-turn. A speeding truck rammed into their scooter from the rear and the duo died on the spot.

The police said it was the negligence of the truck driver that caused the accident. He has been taken into custody and a case has been registered.
The bodies of the victim were handed over to their kin after a post-mortem at Osmania General Hospital.

In another accident at Raidurgam, Ishwarya and her friend Allender Hussain were going towards Mehdipatnam from Madhapur, when an unidentified vehicle hit their bike at Malkam Cheruvu.

The unidentified vehicle was overtaking their bike when it hit them, said the police.

“Ishwarya, who was riding pillion, received injuries to her chest, stomach and right hand. She was rushed to Sunshine Hospital for treatment, where the duty doctors declared her as brought dead. A case has been registered and an investigation is on,” said the police.
