Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti will go the way of the Congress since it too practises dynastic politics, said BJP Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind.

“The Gandhi family is going through a tough situation due to its dynastic politics. The same will be experienced by the Kalvakuntla family. (This will result in) the demise of these political parties. TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao is more focused on vote bank politics, which he will not be able to run for long. If his son K.T.Rrama Rao wants it, Mr Rao should immediately make him the Chief Minister, otherwise for him it will just be a dream. The people have understood the Kalvakuntla family’s politics,” Mr Arvind said.




He alleged that the state government was not implementing Central schemes because the TRS government had its own political agenda, which was “to make people suffer”.

Mr Arvind said, “KCR’s dynastic politics has ruined the state, like the Congress looted the country. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana and other Central government schemes, money is coming to the state but the TRS government is not using it.”

Mr N.V. Subhash, grandson of Congress stalwart and former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and BJP spokesperson, said leaders from different organisations came together and fought for Independence. After Independence, when Mahatma Gandhi wanted to scrap the Congress, Jawaharlal Nehru took charge and subsequently Indira Gandhi became the Prime Minister and later Rajiv Gandhi. “After the Vajpayee government, again the UPA government came and the remote control was in the hands of Sonia Gandhi, leading it to collapse in 2014,” he said.

He told Deccan Chronicle, “Rahul Gandhi himself said that there should be someone other than from the Gandhi family because he was unable to run the party and he clearly understood that he cannot run the country. But, again, Sonia Gandhi wants the party to be under the family’s control. Now, Priyanka Gandhi is getting active again as the last hope of the Gandhi family.”

Asked about dynastic politics in Telangana state, Mr Subhash said it would not serve any purpose. “KCR won the Assembly election because of the Telangana sentiment. KTR is not capable of ruling the state. KCR had got the mandate to form the government which KTR is not capable of getting. Just because he is the son of KCR, KTR should not presume that people will put him in the Chief Minister’s chair.”

Asked if he was not a dynast himself, Mr Subhash said, “Being the son or grandson of a big leader only gives you an introduction. After that, one has to make his on one's own efforts. I am in active politics and if the party wants me to contest in the elections, I will definitely contest.”
