MMTS Hits Intercity Train In Kachiguda Station, 20 Injured

At least 20 people were injured, when an MMTS train hit an Intercity Express train in Kachiguda station on Monday morning here. According to an official of the South Central Railway, the accident took place when an MMTS coming from Malakpet hit the Intercity Express, which was leaving the platform and which was on the same track at Kachiguda station. With the impact of the collision, three bogies of the MMTS train derailed and about 20 passengers were injured in the accident.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials and Government Railway Police are trying to pull out Sekhar, the driver of the MMTS who was trapped in the engine of the MMTS train.
However, the SC Railway official said that the severity of the accident is little less as both the trains are moving slowly and they were within the station limits. The injured were shifted to Kachiguda Hospital immediately.
