Now it it the Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao who's telling us we have no choice but to learn to live with the coronavirus. Last week, as Covid-19 infections seemed to spiral out of control countrywide, the Union health department changed its tune on the pandemic, stating that Indians will have to get used to the virus always being around us.

And now, with the viral infection acquiring momentum in Telangana, particularly Hyderabad, the chief minister of Telangana adopted the same strategy, telling officials at a review meeting to start preparing people to accept this fact.



Chandrashekar Rao's review meeting was meant to take stock of the measures being taken to contain the virus and implement the lockdown protocol. In his remarks to the meeting, the chief minister said no one knows how long the pandemic will be there, so a strategy should be evolved to live with it.

“Let us make fool-proof arrangements to contain the virus. Continue extending the best service to Covid-19 patients and conduct tests on those who may have come in contact with positive persons. Implement all quarantine norms to ensure that the virus does not spread from person to person,” he said.

Stating that the state government was ready all the equipment, medicines and facilities, the chief minister assured that “we will respond properly from the medical side and there need not be any doubt about that.”

“While we continue our fight against the coronavirus, we also have to be ready in other aspects as well."
