KCR fumes at slow-paced works in Nalgonda

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao fumed at officials for delay in the completion of development works even after the state government had released adequate funds.

He visited Nalgonda district on Thursday and reviewed the progress of development works in Nalgonda town. Rao was upset at the slow pace of development works in Nagarjunasagar Assembly constituency that were promised by him during the Assembly by-elections in April last year.

Soon after visiting party MLA from Narketpally Chirumarthi Lingaiah’s residence and paying tributes to the MLA’s departed father, Rao reviewed the development programmes in Nalgonda town and Nagarjunasagar.

The Chief Minister announced three more development works on the occasion, including a flyover at a cost of Rs 50 crore in Nalgonda when officials brought to his notice about the rise in road accidents at Marriguda by-pass.

Rao sought information about the development and lift irrigation works undertaken in Halia and Nandikonda municipalities along with Nagarjunasagar from local MLA Nomula Bhagat. Officials informed that the tender process for the works has been completed. He said that funds were already released and instructed the officials to expedite the works.

He instructed the officials for construction of a new building to house the Roads and Buildings department office on the premises of the district collectorate with Rs 25 crore.

He asked officials to commence the works by June 2. He said would visit Nalgonda again in a month to review the status of development and beautification works.
