KTR to build school in memory of grandma in native Konapur
Posted May 11th, 2022, 12:21 PM IST
Rama Rao visited Konapur, previously known as Posanipalle, in Bibipet mandal of Kamareddy district. His paternal grandparents Raghava Rao and Venkatamma migrated from Posanipalle to Chintamadaka in Siddipet district. Rama Rao was accompanied at the event by minister V. Prashanth Reddy and government whip Gampa Govardhan.
Interacting with the villagers, Rama Rao said after addressing the power and drinking water problems and irrigation projects in the first term, the TRS government was taking up Mana Ooru-Mana Badi programme to improve infrastructure in government schools. By spending Rs 7,300 crore, the government was improving infrastructure in 26,000 government schools across the state, he added.
Rama Rao said he had decided to construct the school building in his ancestral village, taking inspiration from industrialist Subhash Reddy who built the school building in his native Bibipet. He said the new building would have 14 classrooms in two floors and would be completed in nine months.
Coming down heavily on his political opponents, Rama Rao said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao constructed a farmhouse in his agriculture field and was staying there and there was nothing wrong in it.
“How can you term him as a farmhouse CM?” he questioned and said Chandrashekar Rao came from an agriculture family and he knew well the plight of farmers. “KCR hails from a farmers’ family and he accorded top priority to the agriculture sector. Apart from extending 24-hour power supply, the TRS government is implementing several welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima,” he added.
The minister said his paternal grandparents Raghava Rao and Venkatamma had lost their vast lands during expansion of Upper Manair Dam (UMD) by the Nizam government during the 1940s. “My grandparents stayed in Posanipalle till 1945 and shifted to Chintamadaka. They bought vast lands in the village and settled there. In 1954, KCR was born,” he recalled.
Rama Rao urged people from all walks of life to extend support to the Mana Ooru-Mana Badi programme and make the Vidya Yagnam being taken up by the government a grand success. Kamareddy zilla parishad chairperson Dafedar Shobha, district collector Jitesh V. Patil, industrialist Subhash Reddy and others were present.a
