First in AP: Health minister Rajini launches cancer screening kits in Vizag

State Health and Family Welfare Minister Vidadala Rajini on Friday launched the first set of cancer screening kits in Vizag.

She said this would help the government and patients to effectively screen for cancer without delay. She said the government would develop hospitals under the Nadu-Nedu scheme, like schools.

She participated in various programmes including the launch of the National Cancer Grid at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Care Hospital and Research Center in Aganampudi.

Later, she visited the Aganampudi Area Hospital and spoke to the mothers who were going home with their babies in the Thalli-Bidda (mother and child) express, a special ambulance provided by the state government.

She said the government will take steps to increase the hospital’s bed strength from 30 to 100.

Later, she visited Bhimili assembly segment and inaugurated the area hospitals at various locations including Yendada.
