Linking the I-T raids on various firms in the city, allegations levelled by the BJP on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s family over the Delhi liquor policy scam and BJP MLA T. Raja Singh’s controversial remarks to the ensuing Munugode byelection, TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy termed all these as part of BJP’s ‘blackmail politics’ in order to win the seat.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Reddy wanted to know why questioning of the the Chief Minister’s family members was not being done, when the BJP said it had all ‘proof of their corruption’.

“The delay would cost the investigating agencies, as evidence could be tampered with or KCR could hide them in Telangana Bhavan,” he said. Reddy alleged that “a narrative is being woven that only BJP and TRS are in contention at Munugode.”


Bushing away allegations about his links with the promoter of a company, which I-T sleuths had raided, Reddy demanded the probe agencies continue the investigation.

Condemning Raja Singh’s comments, he wanted to know why the authorities were going soft on the BJP legislator.

“When I was arrested as an MP for taking drone footage, no one asked for 41 (A) CrPC,” he said, referring to the court ordder releasing the BJP MLA as he was not served notice.

The PCC chief said that the AICC in-charge Manickam Tagore will have elaborate discussions with all stakeholders on Thursday in preparation for the Munugode by-election. The name of the party nominee would be declared later this month, he said.
