TRS, BJP failed to fulfil promises, says Revanth

TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy slammed the ruling TRS in Telangana state and the Modi-led BJP government at the Centre on Thursday for failing to deliver on development promises, while appealing to voters to give a woman a chance in Munugode byelections.

Revanth told reporters in Munugode on Thursday that despite K. Chandrasekhar Rao being the Chief Minister and Narendra Modi being the Prime Minister, there had been no progress and development. “KCR has retired to a farmhouse. He, who has always preferred to build projects without regard for their productivity, has never visited in all these years,” he said.

Furthermore, the Malkajgiri MP claimed that ahead of Munugode elections, the TRS and the BJP were behaving like rats running helter-skelter after being smoked out of their burrows. He felt that the way one of the TRS ministers was captured in a video while consuming liquor showed how TRS leaders stooped to new lows in these elections. "We never gave out liquor or money. The Congress has never reached this low point,” he remarked.

While urging voters to vote for Congress candidate Palvai Sravanthi, he urged them to select someone deserving of representing them in the Assembly. “If money and wealth are required to become an MLA, anyone selling gudamba can become one. To avoid a situation like this, the Congress is awarding tickets to people who are well-known for their contributions to society,” he claimed.

Meanwhile, he claimed that some party leaders were plotting to dethrone him from the TPCC post. "They hope to remove me from the party position if the Congress loses in Munugode," he said.
