Telangana government promotes lake saving plan among children

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has ordered all government and private schools to involve students in promoting Mission Kakatiya, a lake restoration programme.

The government has made it mandatory for school administrations to teach students about this programme. District administrations have been asked to ensure that competitive exams in this regard are conducted on January 24 at the high school level and on January 28 at the mandal level.

Students who secure top three positions in each school and mandal level exams will be eligible for state-level competitive exams that will be held in February.

All those who participate in the exams will be given participation certificate, said district education officer of Ranga Reddy district.
