Uttar Pradesh: Constable arrested for allegedly throwing girl off roof after rape bid

Badaun, Uttar Pradesh: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly thrown off the roof of a police station after rape attempt by a constable in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on January 15.

The girl has sustained serious injuries on her head and pelvic bone. She is being treated at a hospital in Bareilly.

Demanding justice for her daughter, the girl’s mother said that constable Gaurav Tylter had called the girl to the police station.

Meanwhile, police have registered a FIR against the constable. He has been charged for attempt to murder. The girl’s statement is yet to be recorded.

Badaun was at the epicentre of controversy in May last year after bodies of two teenage sisters were found hanging from a tree.

Initially, the police said that the girls were raped, however, last month the CBI filed a report that said all evidence indicated suicide.
