According to him the citizen friendly initiatives of the police were effective in bringing goodwill to the department. “We have launched many initiatives that are widely appreciated by the public.

The new dress code for policemen is in the process and it will help our system to be world class. Soon, all police stations in districts too will also get new vehicles,” he said addressing media after launching the event.

Senior cops said that as part of the cashless enforcement in traffic police, disputes between cops and commuters will come down, and there won’t be corruption.

“The traffic violator will be issued e-ticket and will be given 7 days to pay the challan. If such cases cumulatively exceeds three cases, then police will detain RC, DL and the vehicle and will ask the violators to pay to get his vehicle back,” said a senior cop.

Video footages and photographs of violation recorded through cameras, CCTVs , speed laser guns at ACPs jurisdictions are preserved in the server and sent in the form of e-challan to the violators with evidence.

All challans issued to commuters can be paid through eSeva or Mee Seva, net banking, post office, SBH or Andhra Bank branches.

Information of payments for challans are updated in the database. For any queries the commuters can contact helpline 9010203626, officials said. Cops said that as many as 500 legal notices were issued on Tuesday and sent to offenders via speed post.
