Jammu and Kashmir: Pak rangers violate ceasefire along International Border

Jammu: Pakistani Rangers violated ceasefire yet again by resorting to firing with small arms on Border Out Posts (BoPs) along the International Border in Jammu district, prompting the BSF to retaliate.

"Pakistani Rangers resorted to intermittent small arms firing on Border out Posts along the IB in Arnia sector of Jammu since late last night", a senior BSF officer told PTI.

BSF troops guarding the borderline retaliated resulting in intermittent exchanges which continued till 0700 hours, he said, adding that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing.

The firing comes after BSF foiled an infiltration bid in the area on Tuesday.

On January 13, there was firing by Pakistani Rangers in Samba sector. Pakistan also resorted to firing of mortar shells and small arms along the IB in Hiranagar belt of Kathua district on January 11.

On January 6, there was ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers along the IB in Kathua district.
