Prime Minister's office controls CBI: Mamata Banerjee

New Delhi: Keeping up her tirade against the Centre following the arrest of the state minister Madan Mitra by the CBI in the Saradha chitfund scam, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday charged that the investigating agency had been working under the Prime Minister’s Office.

“If you ask me the role of CBI, it is: A-political vendetta, B-political vendetta, C-political vendetta,” Ms Banerjee said.

The West Bengal CM accused that the BJP was pursuing only “political vendetta” against her party. “The CBI is being used as a political tool and is as a mere department of the PMO,” she said.

Ms Banerjee on Thursday came to the Central Hall and talked to MPs of other parties too, besides her party leaders in the Parliament.

She alleged that the attitude of the BJP had been dictatorial.

“TMC will not bow down before anyone, except the people of the country. This is a political fight and we will fight politically and democratically,” she said.
