New Delhi: Even as the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate for the Delhi Assembly polls Kiran Bedi described the RSS as “very nationalistic” organisation that has kept India united, reports of factionalism in the party forced Union home minister Mr Rajnath Singh on Wednesday to step in and say, “There is no crisis in the BJP. The party stands united to face Delhi Assembly polls.”
If Mr Singh was trying to douse the fire, protest over ticket distribution yet again erupted on Wednesday. Angry protesters raised slogans in front of the Delhi BJP office over distribution of tickets and naming the “outsider” Kiran Bedi as the chief ministerial candidate.
In her interview to a TV news channel, the 65-year-old Ms Bedi, who has been pitchforked to a leadership role within days of joining the BJP, also felt that the RSS, a right-wing organisation, was a very disciplined outfit and has been contributing significantly to nation building.

Earlier in the day responding to apparent unhappiness of some senior Delhi BJP leaders and Lok Sabha member from North East Delhi, Manoj Tiwari over the former IPS officer Kiran Bedi being declared as the party’s chief ministerial candidate, Mr Singh denied of any prevailing rift. the Union minister said, “If there is any complaint cadres will talk to their leaders in the party. There is no point in making it an issue. The party cadre will contribute wholeheartedly in the Delhi polls.”
On Wednesday Ms Bedi, Mr Arvind Kejriwal and Mr Ajay Maken filed their nominations While Ms bedi filed her nominations from Krishna Nagar assembly berth, Mr Kejr-iwal filed his nomination from New Delhi and Mr Maken from Sadar Baz-aar Assembly.
At Ms Bedi’s road show most of the top saffron party leaders were present to show an united face.
