Hyderabad: Telangana power minister C. Lakshma Reddy said the TS government is ready to share power with AP as stipulated in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, from the upcoming power plants in TS that will commence operations in 2-3 years, if AP reciprocates with its share of power from its power plants now.

As per the Act, power has to be shared in the ratio of 54:46 between TS and AP.

Mr Reddy assumed charge as power minister at Secretariat on Thursday was responding to the reports that AP was willing to share power with TS.

"We did not receive any official communication from AP on this. I wish those reports are true. We too will reciprocate positively and offer share to AP in our upcoming power plants," Mr Reddy remarked.

He said the government will make TS a "power surplus state" in three years and short-term, medium-term and long-term plans have been prepared to achieve the goal.

When asked, how TS could be made a power-surplus state in three years, when it is now reeling under severe power shortage, he replied, "We have devised plans to cross 20,000 MW in three years. By June 2015, we will get 300 MW from central generating stations. Another 1200 MW from Singareni and 600 MW from

Bhupalapally by August 2015 and another 600 MW from Singareni by 2015-end. In this way, we will add 2,600 MW by 2015-end.
