Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission will come out with a job calendar soon.

Newly appointed Telangana Public Service Commission chairman Prof. Ganta Chakrapani, who assumed charge of the office here on Thursday, said that the commission would take immediate steps to fill up the over 1.07 lakh vacant government posts in a phased manner.

“Our first task is to come out with a job calendar soon. There are 1.07 lakh vacancies and it will be filled in a phased manner. The commission will function in a transparent manner, maintain utmost integrity and will be apolitical. We will not succumb to any political pressure,” Mr Chakrapani said after taking charge.

TSPSC chief asserted that merit and eligibility would be the sole criteria for recruitment of the candidates and there would be no scope for political influence or corruption in recruitment.

When asked about the timeframe for notifications to various vacant posts, he said it would take two to three months.

“In the past, public service commission was hit by corruption charges. You will not find it anymore. The commission will function in a very transparent manner and recruitment will be totally as per rules,” he said to a query.

Prof. Chakrapani and another TSPSC member Vittal asserted that there would be no more dharnas for jobs before the commission.

“We will come out with a job calendar soon. 2015 will be observed as year of employment,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, Things turned sour between Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh once again on Thursday.

The in-charge chairman and secretary of the AP Public Service Commission (APPSC) occupied the chambers designated for the chairman and secretary of the Telangana State Public Service Commission prior to Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani taking charge as the chairman of the TSPSC. Though the APPSC in-charge chairman A. Siva Narayana vacated the chamber, the in- charge Secretary D. Ramadevi didn’t relent and said she didn’t receive any official written or oral communication on allocation of chambers to office bearers and refused to vacate the chambers.

Prof. Chakrapani took charge in his chambers and asked the APPSC to get the secretary vacated from the chamber by night.
