Complete pending jobs, says Asaduddin Owaisi

Hyderabad: MIM president MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday asked Somesh Kumar, special officer and commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, to take-up all pending works that had been approved by the standing committee and the general budget. The Hyderabad MP met Mr Kumar at his chambers at the GHMC and submitted a list of works that had been approved by the standing committee.

According to Mr Owaisi, the civic body has been delaying several development works. The works include road over-bridges at Varamgadda and Falaknuma, improving Shastripuram junction, indoor stadium at Shastripuram, road widening at Panch Mohalla and also from Volga Hotel to Vazir Ali Masjid, Moosa Bowli Junction crossroad to Goodluck Cafe, Puranapul, and a road under-bridge at Azampura, Malakpet.

He told the commissioner that transfer of funds from GHMC to the Quli Qutub Sha Urban Development Authority for the construction of the GHMC circle office and minority training centre was still pending. He reminded the commissioner that the project for renovation of heritage buildings had also not commenced despite allocation of funds. He also expressed his displeasure at the delay in completing the Charminar Pedestrianisation Project.

The MP also asked the commissioner to commence the construction of expressway from Aramgadh 'X' Road to Owaisi Hospital as Rs 48 crore for the project was already approved. Mr Owaisi also mentioned that orders for the alteration of the master plan on the Nampally Road from 120 feet to 100 feet, from Taj Ice Cream Parlor to A1 crossroads were yet to issued.
